I was trying to clean things up a bit around here and started flipping through some unlabeled stockbooks to put temporary labels on them. Lo and behold, on page 1 of one of the stockbooks was my missing France #10 AND my missing #21!!! On that page were several other possible premium items that I put in to examine later. I had completely forgotten about them!
Normally, I have one stockbook dedicated to temporarily putting in premium stamps for safe-keeping until I am about to put them in the proper album spot. I now remember that a couple of times, I got lazy and arbitrarily grabbed a stockbook to put stick in "items to be examined later for possible/final premium stamp ID". There's at least one other stockbook somewhere with a similar page.
I'll try to scan and post the refound France #10 and #21 before the end of this weekend. The great news will come after that!
OK, since I found this stamp, backtracking a little...
Scott France #10(1852) with single star cancel. I have very few star cancels. This one is nice centered, although not oriented perfectly. They also exist as star roller cancels (continuous row of stars).
This stamp has a nice premium, so I'm glad I found it!
