USA CARE Package Acknowledgement IBM Postcards

Remember when we were kids, our teachers had us bring soap and canned goods to donate to CARE, so that they could send it to the starving people in Europe who were displaced during World War II? These IBC punch cards were sent to people who donated (sometimes to specific persons), and then when the recipient got the CARE packages, acknowledged their receipt to the donors.

These two cards were in a box of covers I bought on eBay for a ridiculously small sum (the delivery cost more than the 10-pound box). I didn't really pay attention to them, and when I found them the other day, I saw I'd priced them at $1 apiece. I then noticed the two were actually bookends of the same story.

Sure am glad nobody bought them!

those are amazing... i also had not heard of these and i would imagine finding both ends of the process would be really hard... nice find mister.
