Help Needed to Identify the Scott # for a Machin

I had originally thought this was Scott # MH288 of which is printed using photogravure, however upon closer examination I noted that these 2 specimens are actually printed using lithography.  Checking the sub-listings for MH288 did not reveal anything.  Am I missing something - see the below photo...




Perf: 15 x 14 Sync
Color:  Orange Red (or Vermilion) using Stanley Gibbons Color Guide
And they are definitely Litho


Any assistance or guidance will be greatly appreciated.


BTW I am utilizing 2013 Scott Catalogue.

There were Litho stamps printed in 1998-2002.

Although the perfs are just a little off from what you mentioned, its only by 1/4th.

MH297 Perf 14 3/4 x 14
MH298 Perf 15 x 14 1/4

Yes kacyds extremely helpful.

I was not considering these to be Self-Adhesive Serpentine Die Cut due to the fraying that is present at the end of most perfs (when viewed under a X10 Magnifying Glass).


However after looking at these under my USB Microscope you can clearly note that the fraying that is present may be due to edge wear or tag-a-long paper fibers from the cover these stamps were removed from.

Sorry, but I wasnt looking at the perfs closely when I was researching those Scott numbers. The two stamps above are definitely not Self Adhesive and were torn out of a booklet. Looking closely at the perfs, some are shorter than others. With that said the Scott numbers that I gave you are not correct.

Digging a little deeper into Scott catalog and my GB Album, it looks the Scott number for those two stamps should be MH241, which is Perf 15x14 and Lithographed.

kacyds thank you very much, this info is extremely helpful.  These were the last 2 machins I had off to the side as questionable.

Now I can move onto the Great Britain Booklets I have.
