Here is one of the newest perfins nicely centered on the recently-issued eclipse stamp. The eclipse stamp is the first US stamp using thermochromic ink. By pressing your thumb on the moon, the moon changes to a gray color and the craters are revealed. The ink is UV sensitive, so leaving the stamp exposed to sunlight will permanently bleach the ink.
I also forgot to remove a candle-cancel stamp when scanning.
Funny this should come up just now as just the other night I was poking about trying to find out more about Australian Perfins - I found this site which people might find useful as it list various perfins www.perfins.com.au
Already suffering from a bad case of collection creep as I am currently collecting Used only - Australia, Great Britain, Canada, Ireland, Western Europe, and Scandinavia, from 1900 to date. Oh and I am interested in Artists and Art on stamps ... Trying to avoid becoming a WW collector.
I collect Ireland perfins, but only the republic issues, not Great Britain issues used in Ireland. There are thousands of those!
I purchased an Ireland catalog / album from the perfin society and I highly recommend buying one if you collect these rigorously.
Not sure if I am allowed to do this, but I have a few for trade. Message me if interested. Admin apologies if that breaks a newbie rule, kindly delete if needed.
I will be in touch regarding the perfins you have for trade. Do you want other per fins or ?
Please let me know. It is going to take me at least another week or so to catch up with everything. Been down for near a month now. And with 10 kids and xmas coming up... I am trying to figure out just where I'm at...
