The Future of the Member of the Month...

We are at a unique cross roads at Stamps Bears this month. Both of the Administrators and Moderators top 2 picks for Member of the Month have refused to be honored.

We have used this Member of the Month to honor our members dedication and contributions to Stamps Bears and the remarkable content of this site. However it would seem that (at least a few members) either do not see their value(we do!!!) or members no longer find this tradition desirable.

Please cast your vote to see if we decide to resume this monthly honoring as we move forward.

I think this is still important but, maybe, it might be good/better to do this once every other month or once a quarter?

I have no strong feelings on this, but, if we keep going, would suggest we go for once a quarter.

I see no problem with it. If someone doesn't want the recognition that is thier choice for whatever reasons.

If we dont grow as a group here, I think we could do away with it or maybe once a quarter. If for some reason our numbers start to flourish than we can rethink this and bring it back to every month.

My local stamp club has a cup awarded on Competition Night to the the best exhibit by a member who has never won a trophy before. I'm sure that when it was set up many years ago it was a nice bit of encouragement to novices to compete. But umpteen years down the line and with a steadily contracting membership (or at least attendance) just about the entire club is now disqualified, by being a previous winner.

I don't know if you have the same term across the Atlantic, but in Britain we have the expression Buggins' Turn, which means giving someone a position because everyone else has already done it and the person concerned would be hurt if he didn't get his/her chance as well.
