Need help with another New Orleans Cover

kacyds, I just emailed you a couple of documents that you may not be able to obtain otherwise...My library membership allows me access to genealogical research databases (check out your local library for the same) that have data that is not available without payment on the internet.  I found Theresa Kurten's death certificate and a New Orleans city directory which mentions her name...I will let you announce what you find out...very fun stuff.

Thanks for all your help darkormex. I will look at that stuff in a little bit. Im going thru the 1920's Census and looking for the senders address. Getting very close. Hope to come up with some names.....

Okay the 1920 and 1930 has a different name for 322 N. Lopez St. It was a rental house so no telling who was living in the house on June 16, 1923.

Not much info on this cover.

It was mailed at 5:30PM on May 27, 1901 from Box 1294, New Orleans to a J. B. Station B. Carrollton LA. I pass by the Carrollton Station Post Office often and is near the Uptown area of New Orleans.

On the back, in purple, it was "Received at General Delivery May 28, 1901 Station New Orleans, LA".

Back to the front. Black Station B cancel, with a May 31, 1901 12(P)M New Orleans barrel duplex cancel.

Next on the back, Received 1PM May 31, 1901 New Orleans, LA

Lastly on the front. Unclaimed, with the words "Returned to Writer Station New Orleans, La. P.O." stamped in purple inside of a hand.

We probably will never know the sender from Box 1294 or the receiver J.B. All we know is that this letter traveled a couple of days, just to be returned to sender.

Question??? I know that the original cancel has a name, but cant remember what it is called. Does anyone know???
