When posting covers online I often notice that many people do cover the recipient's address to protect identity. However, I notice that when posting old covers the recipient's address is not always covered.
Is there any cut off date or something of the sort to determine when scans of covers should have the address covered ?
belti, posters cover up their own addresses, or addresses of acquaintances to prevent others from using them in a scam or to harass the addressee. Since Stamp Bears is often viewed by non-member guests, it's a smart and prudent thing to do. You never really know who might be viewing them. It's the same reason why I shred all my mail and documents. Can't be too safe, y'know.
Normally if its a recent cover, most of our members will cover the address up. If its an older cover we normally will post the address. If you looking for a cut off date, lets say if its more than 50 years old, post it. Less than 50, cover it up.
