Phil, just wondering if I replaced a picture on My Stamps with a better or more up to date picture (e.g. filled gaps on a page) would it automatically update on Stamp Bears or would I need to delete/update existing picture on Stamp Bears as well as on My Stamps?
When you upload a file onto SeeMyStamps, it automatically saves the file with a datestamp. So right now, you cannot simply swap a file out. You will have both the old file and a new file, both of which will have different links.
You'd have to go use a file-server on the cloud that has software to do automatic uploading of updated files. I used to use one and it worked great (never had to worry about changing/updating image links in posts) -- that is until the image server was discontinued by the parent company. Ended up having to change all my image links.
On a side note, if you upload an image, see a mistake and re-do the image file using the same filename, and then re-upload that file the same date, SeeMyStamps will retain the original upload!!! This happens at some other forums as well, not just with SeeMyStamps. I haven't tested this in awhile, and assumed it hasn't changed. You have to either wait until the next date, or else change the name of the file you are uploading. Also, SeeMyStamps only keeps the first 20 something characters (I didn't count) of the filename. If you upload a long filename and only change the last character or so, it will think it is the same file.
Phil, if any of the above info has changed since I last tested it, please correct me.
guyana1230 , khj , Sorry for the delay. I'm actually in Guyana at the moment and since I can't really do much with my stamps I check Stamps Bears much less frequently. khj , what you're saying may be correct - I really haven't checked it out though. I have it set where the images retain their original source name as the filename and are stored in folders by by date. So, what you're saying makes sense. If you do want to change the image on an existing post, you could always just edit it. Change the embed code to match the new upload.
