stampie78 Thank you for the Cinderella stamps and the Canadian ones too.
I haven't had any recent GB for a few months now, my source of charity stamps has dried up apart from the normal 1st and 2nd class stamps, have now decided that I will stop collecting the new issues as I was only collecting them in used now anyway. I had given up collecting mint GB some years back.
Today a cover arrived from Chile! I think that is the first time I’ve ever corresponded with anyone from there. I don’t know what we’d do without their wonderful out of season fruits and veggies here in the states. Anyways that one was a response to my old trade offer for newer collectors - send me a cover from your country with a few Irish definitives or a stamp from your country and I will send you 100+ recent Japan. That was so much fun! I’m still getting covers from around the globe once in a while and I’m still trading with a few of them. If we have any newer collectors here, Japan beginners or anyone mentoring a younger collector, I still have some packets left. Send a cover and they are yours!
I wonder how much repeat business Swan gets just for the postage.
I would think quite a bit. I know I get most of my kiloware from him. Even with the exchange rate and the HST we have to pay when it hits the Canadian postal system, I still come out ahead. And I am building a nice collection of recent US large sets/sheets.
How do you like the Swan kiloware? I seem to have better luck with the mixes from IFES, a charity. But, maybe I’m buying the weakest part of his inventory. He sure uses amazing shipping postage!
There used to be several great kiloware dealers here in the USA, but except for Swan and IFES I think they are all gone.
If you have never heard of IFES, I did a cut and paste of the attachment he sent - he sends the pricelist via email. You can read it here on my page. Again, this is a charity run by volunteers, and is NOT a business. They have volunteers all around the world gathering the kiloware for the group. It is a Christian group. The IFES kiloware feels a little bit less picked over to me.
