Well, I have a pic I wanted to share here, but I'll be darned if I can figure out how to do it. It's gonna be tough getting to my 50 posts if I can't puzzle this out. I was given a collection by a friend of mine recently...it belonged to his dad. The collection contained 2 volumes of Scott big blue albums from 1955. Lots of cool stuff inside, but these really struck my fancy. I came across 3 Nova Scotia stamps from 1860, and as near as I can tell, they are unused. Unfortunately, though, they were hinged to the page. I know they weren't going to fund a retirement account, but I thought they were pretty nice and I want to share them here and get some comments. I've created an account on 'See My Stamps!', and I've uploaded the image there, but I can't get any further. Can anyone help me?
You have to add the BBcode to insert the image via Stamp Bears.
You need to get the URL from SeeMyStamps. Go to your picture, there should be clickable item called something like "Embed Codes", and that will give you the URLs. I usually pick the image URL. Hover over the URL, and to the right, a "COPY" button will appear. Click on that and it will copy to your clipboard.
Then come back to your Stamp Bears the "Reply" or "Quick Reply" window/tab, you can either:
1. click the "Insert Image" button in the row of editing buttons (if not sure, hover over the buttons and the description will appear); you can then paste in the URL as well as enter alternate text; ProBoards will automatically insert the default BBCode at your last cursor location in your post
2. (my preference) manually paste in BBCode and insert the URL in 2 places -- this makes the picture "clickable" to the full-size image. An example is below. I cannot directly give you the BBCode as ProBoards will attempt interpret it. But you can click on the quote button of my post, and extract the aref BBCode from it. Rather than retyping it every time, you can use it as a template and replace the 2 URLs with your own image URLs. Only copy the BBCode between the "a" brackets as a template, do not included the endquote BBCode.
i can relate to you about posting images. I have issues because of my IPad . I have been too lazy to try posting on the laptop. I will get to it someday. I have a nice varied collection of NS stamps that I have assembled over the years. I am still missing the first few issues as they are pricey. I have been setting aside $$for a while now so I can one day make that purchase. If you have time, have a look at sites selling stamps and search for NS. There are often many listings at any given time. Many can be obtained at reasonable prices. You will get a good idea of the difference in quality and colour variants. Enjoy your new discovery.
I'll try this wwekend to post a couple more scans of things that might hold interest.Image posting isn't going well here.I pasted URL code and it still didn't "take".My bike might have a flat.Back to the job site...later
