Newest set coming out on the 21st January Islay Ferries This is a set of three stamps depicting the ferries currently serving Islay.
50p—MV Eilean Dhiura. The Eilean Dhiura operates the service between Port Askaig and Feolin Ferry of the neighbouring Isle of Jura. She was built in 1998 and has provided the main access to Jura ever since.
£1—MV Finlaggan. The Finlaggan is a relative new vessel, having been built in 2010 and entering service the following year. She mainly services the Kennacraig to Islay route.
£2—MV Hebridean Isles. The Hebridean Isles was launched in 1985 and has served on various Caledonian MacBrayne routes. She mainly provides a service between Kennacraig and Islay, extending to Colonsay and Oban once a week during the summer months.
Set of three stamps: £3.50 (Mint or CTO) Full sheet: £7.50 First Day Cover: £4.00
Everytime I buy a bottle of Laphroiag, I find a little card certifying that I now own a parcel of land on Islay about the size of a postage stamp. At this point, I probably own a plot about the size of a souvenir sheet.
I collect each country, dead or alive, but focus on France, French African colonies, older German area, allegorical men, carnivorous plants, Vikings, rock art, engraved pictorials.
