Are These Stamps Considered Se-Tenant?

Doing some hacking to one of Steiner's pages - the Sweden Wild Animals Set of 1992-1996 - and there are 3 issues, the deer (2.80k), the bears (2.90) and the weasel/otter issues (3.85k) that I'm curious about. I think they were issued on booklets and coils.
Here's what I mean:

Are these considered Se-Tenant? 

And was this issued as a coil?

I don't think these stamps were issued Se-Tenant. I think they were all issued separately(in booklets and coils).

EDIT:  Boy was I wrong!!  I revisited the site and found a seller displaying those two bear stamps Se-Tenant(horizontally across from each other).

I also suspect some of the coil types were issued in Se-Tenant type strips.

Yeah the Steiner page has 3 different issues like that as 2-stamp strips as well as [what appears as] a coil stamp. But I couldn't find anything that definitely ids them coil or Se-Tenant. Whats more, there are some similar Swedish issues like the ones I'm thinking are Se-tenant, that actually are booklets. But nowhere can I find the horizontally-perfed ones listed as coils. Usually Colnect is good about that.  

Anyway , this is what I've put together. I just want to make sure I have them listed correctly ... being the perfectionist I am and all.

Yes, that is correct for that series. Unfortunately, there is not always a simple general rule of thumb for knowing which will be setenants. Normally, the coils will usually not be setenants, but the booklet stamps will be. But beware of some booklets that contain stamps (extra wide stamps) that appear to be coils. The Swedish houses setenant booklet pane of 1996 is one example -- the 2 wide setenant stamps would appear to be vertical coils if separated because they have straight edges at left and right. A comparable US stamp example would be the 22¢ Special Occasions booklet pane of 1987.

In the European albums, they have spaces for both the singles and the setenant pairs. If the whole booklet pane is all-different setenants, then there is only space for the booklet pane and not the singles. Yes, directly joined stamps of different design are considered setenants, regardless of format.

I actually like to collect what I call slip setenants (those that are partially joined because one stamp is deliberately perforated higher or lower than the other stamp). There are some examples in the US Bicentennial S/S. There are also examples in the Nature of America series, but it isn't as enjoyable collecting them when they are self-adhesive stamps. There's probably a formal name for them, but I'm going to make myself feel important and not google it. smiley-taunt014

While on the subject, a se-tenant strip of 3 that makes up one continuous design is called a triptych.

Colombia, Scott Nr 846 (1976)


While a block of 4 making up a single design is called a quatripartition.



You will see stamp listings where a se-tenant strip of 3 different designs is called a triptych. Be assured, this is just wrong.

That is correct, and an excellent example. That's why I mentioned that "Unfortunately, there is not always a simple general rule of thumb for knowing which will be setenants." But that's what makes stamp collecting interesting!

And now I'm thinking it may get complicated if we include some of those sand dune sheets, or even penny reds!!

What about when there is a set of four but part of the design continues between the blocks of four?

Here is an example, I laid two blocks next to each other to show what I am talking about, one of the balloons continues between blocks.




Also, the two outer stamps don't seem to be connected to the design of the middle stamps (other than sharing the same blue background), so does that mean in this case only the middle stamps should count, making those two se-tenants?

I would consider that to be continuous design. There's no border. But the 20¢ cactus, I would not consider to be either continuous or contiguous design because for some odd reason, they did put a border!?!

Then there's the 29¢ circus -- is there one spotlight or two spotlights?
