Great Jumpin Jehosafat!!!
You did it again!!! Surprised the heck out of someone!!! I'm thinking I need to up my game to justify this.
Nice questions, I really had to think about them for a while(a few days).
1) What keeps you coming back to Stamp Bears?
After much thought and reading Tomd's answers from last month, I realized there was no way to do better than simply to quote him.
"A place where you can learn from and teach to all. A place where a difference of opinion is just a different point of view. A place where one can feel safe because of an Admin and Mod team, well there record stands for itself. A place I call Home & members I call Family."
2) Can you recall any specific interactions that were important to you here? (trades, meaningful posts, unexpected letters etc.)
It's all pretty much a blur, reflecting my own confused state of mind,I suppose. Mostly I remember the freebees from various members. Specifically, the Hungary, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela Albums I got from Oquist had the greatest impact. They hooked me on Scott Specialty albums.
3) If you are about to suggest Stamp Bears to a potential new member, what would you say?
I would say the StampBears provides a little of everything, so you can focus on those aspect you thrive on while also spicing up your life by enjoying the variety.
4) How has your collecting changed since becoming a member of Stamp Bears? (new collections, new techniques, reduction in collections, etc.)
I've changed from a sort of helter skelter World Wide lack of focus to selecting one topic at a time and actively trying to downsize, again one topic at a time.
5) The Admin and Moderating team obviously has taken a positive interest in your posts here at Stamp Bears. Is there another member whose posts you also take a positive interest in? Can you point out some specific examples? (please provide links if at all possible)
Sorry, we such a diverse community, and for me, at least, the variety is what I feed on. Though, one member I keep looking for is Perfs14. I miss his posts. For example stampbears.net/thread/2357/different
6)Do you have a favorite thread on StampBears?
Stamp of the Day is my favorite, though lately I've been making a point of logging on more frequently just to check out the shoutbox.
7)Do your stamp collecting interests include anything unusual?"
I suppose my attempts to use a bit of chemistry figure out colors, pigments, etc. is a bit odd.
8)what is your most memorable stamp acquisition or your worst acquisition?
Most memorable is the collection of recent Austria stamps I was gifted, as well as acquiring an older Austria collection on ebay. Also, the Hungary collection. All of these collections had specific attributes reflecting the personalities of the people who generated them, which I hope can be preserved.
