Do we have any deer hunters out there?

It is that time of year when people go into the woods and enjoy God's little animals. Little chipmunks and squirrels taking food off the bait pile.
Watching a porcupine climb the same tree as you are in. And hoping he won't go any higher. 
Or going to a party store to see a kid do some horrible things to a button buck. (I will have nightmares all this month)
My husband is getting ready to go to Michigan's great upnorth. He loves bow hunting.
So lets hear any stories about deer hunting.

We put a gun at the ready with pellets in it for the deer that have been using our flower garden as a dining hall, so they switched to sneaking in at night.

I used to hunt deer on land that's been in my Mother's family since it was settled a couple centuries ago. Haven't gone since moving too far away to make the trip justifiable.

I don't have the desire to go here in Wisconsin. I would be relegated to public land, and there are too many careless people in the woods.
