I am really new at this. I just got some stamps from my great grandma and my grandpa recommended this website to me. I don't have very much stamps but enough to start collecting. I also really don't know exactly what I'm doing but I at least know some basics.
roundnround, welcome to the new Stamp Bears. Feel free to ask questions about this great hobby and our friendly, knowledgeable members will be happy to provide answers. I look forward to your participation in our threads. Mike
Collecting Canada, US, UK, Ireland, Germany, France & Austria. Also collecting some classic era stamps of some British Commonwealth Island countries and topicals like WW2, Capt. Cook, Horatio Nelson.

Please be sure to familiarise yourself with the rules of our forums which can be found here. Once again welcome to Stamp Bears and we all look forward to hearing more about you and your collections.
Greetings young Master roundnround . I am glad to see you here at Stamp Bears. I know how difficult it is for a young fellow to start learning all the terminology that is involved with stamp collecting. . One bit of terminology that is a little different, at least on forum message boards (which is what Stamp Bears is) and different from facebook, is the term "friends." Friends need to be asked and approved on facebook in order to post on each other's "wall." Here in Stamp Bears all members are automatically "friends." The "wall" in Stamp Bears consists of five areas: 1) Welcome, 2) General Stamp Collecting Discussion, 3) Regional Stamp Discussion, 4) Stamps and Stamp Related Market Place, and 5) Off Topic. Each area is divided up into Boards. These Boards are main subjects having to do with the area they are in. The subjects are called "Threads." You can start a thread or post a message in a thread. You started this thread ("Hello From Texas") and this message of mine is posted in this thread. . I bet your grandpa is sure glad to see signed up. You might want to tell everyone how old you are. . Respectfully,
Grandpa gave me the heads up on you mister no worries we will help you out..

We always welcome questions, so if you need to know how to work the site you can either read some of the threads in this area stampbears.proboards.com/board/8/ or feel free to post questions not covered there also.
If you have need of any further assistance please also feel welcome to PM any of the Administrators or Moderators here and we will get an answer to you right away.
Have a look around, jump in anywhere you want to and feel free to start a new topic if we dont have one going already.
Oh and don't forget the market place is dedicated to conversations about swaps or sales and will be open to you once you have achieved 25 posts.
Hello and welcome from Wales. My son is 12 and shows interest in stamps, however he doesn't like the taste of those stamp hinges!
