United States stamp collectors?

Where are all the U.S.A. collectors hiding? I've seen little to no movement in the US section in quite a few months. Are there any here?

Krash that is all I collect U.S.A.   krash I guess I don't go to the section U.S. I just hang around Recent Topics or start a new thread in General.

@krash, I have a US collection but little pre-1900 (about 2 dozen stamps). I would love to see more threads covering the classics because I have trouble identifying stamps from this era.

Which stamps or era is troubling you MikeC99? I would be absolutely thrilled to assist in anyway I can. I love pictures/scans though so I know what we're discussing.

Chuck I too do that but I really haven't seen many -if any US stamp posts.  I was just giving a quick shout out to my peeps! a head count sort of.

Mike Stamp Collecting basically is a winter hobby for me. We have a Fifth wheel, Pontoon and Four Winns Speed Boat. We spend our summers at the Lake (about 120 days) from May to October. Camping,boating and fishing. There is no internet service where we go. I go to the Library for internet service a couple times a week.I have tried to focus on Airmail this year. I am down to needing just nine stamps. All the Zeppelins I need and C1,3,5,6. I have about 1/2 of all the Souvenir sheets. I do have a lot of holes from Scott #1846-4717 where I cut off. I collect Mint Only except the first Scott #700 stamps and that is only because of cost. I am retired 28 years and therefore I am on a limited budget. I am nearly Solid Mint from Scott #803-1845. I hope this has given you a good picture of my collection. I forgot to mention I have quite a few panes and hundreds of Plate Blocks that I would love to sell or trade.

I collect U.S.A. stamps, but have been concentrating
on my Australian collection more lately as I am
finding lovely used copies of them, am a new collector
of them and so can buy almost any of them at low costs.

@krash, thanks for the offer to help in identifying US classic stamps that stump me. By the way, I just won the following pair of Franklins about 20 minutes ago. Once they arrive in a week or so, I will take a crack at identify their Scott #s.

You pretty much know what I have in my collect. I am at a stand still with my US collection, because I pretty much have everything, but the high priced classics. At this point in my life, I cant take food off the table to buy those classics at this time. Maybe down the road though.....

Mounted all my air mails and back of book on pages I created, and will try to remember to scan and post them when I get home later this week.

krash, I am all over the place at this point. Over the last 2 years I have worked on US BOB for a while, organized and mounted the 1902 and 1922 definitive series, worked on PNCs and am always clipping, saving and storing items I get on my office mail.

Eventually I always go back to the US at one time or another but for now, I have too many competing interests.

I collect US but with the extra work load and time I spent on WW stamps haven't spent much time on the US. Will be starting back again next week!!!

I accumulate US stamps and put them in a Scott National album, and occasionally try to fill in some blanks for stamps and periods that catch my eye, but the banknote issues and the Washington/Franklins stop me from getting serious. They sit in a half-sorted state waiting for me to lose interest in more distant and obscure countries.

life has gotten so busy over the last few months i have had little time to dedicate to the collection at all.. the few short times i have worked on anything were fast projects i knew i could complete in a week or so.. i have a TON of US to go through and put away (and Canada is the same way).. i just dont have the TON of time i need when things are reasonably quiet...

I collect US, but, as with the rest of my collection, only acquire material if it is put in front of me with a price of about 5 cents a stamp.

I'm sort of at a crossroad with collecting at the time-being. Health issues and just keeping my family afloat is top priority and I been so broke I can't even pay attention half of the time so I can certainly relate. I was curious as to what US collectors also focus on. Best wishes. -Jeff

Jeff I'm trying to complete my Airmail all Mint. I only lack nine stamps. All the Zeppelins of course and a couple others 1,2,3,5 and 6come to my mind right now. Then I'll just focus on regular stamps. I might go to Parcel Post and finish them. They are all used. I am  pretty well all done for the summer though. Just a few outstanding auction I won. I'll start back up in the  Fall. Hope your feeling much better  by now.

Some of us are in hibernation when it comes to our US collection. I'll wake up again when USPS quits being so blatant about milking collectors for money.
