Help with a early USA Washington stamp

Now as Kacyds had found, a Hungary stamp valued at $2.25 was a $600.00. One would say that always happens to the other person not me.

Well here is my chance for it to happening to me.



This could be:

Scotts 94; rose color, F grill @ $12.00
Scotts 88; rose color, E grill @ $32.50
Scotts 85C; rose color, Z grill @ $3,500.00
Scotts 85; rose color, D grill @ $1,100.00
Scotts 83; red color, C grill @ $1,100.00
Scotts 65: rose color @ $3.75
Scotts 64: pink color @ $1,000.00


Now with holding it up to the light, checking the back I see nothing, even using a 16X magnification, which I can see down to the fibers.

So unless there is another way to check for grills that would cut my possibilities down to the last two.
Now, if any hints on another way with the grills please let me know.

Now which color is it, rose or pink?

My luck puts it at Scotts 65: rose color @ $3.75

But as with Kacyds you can never tell or take anything for granted.

So any help out there with this stamp?

Doesn't look pink to me. More like rose. This is a really tough issue for judging color. In the specialist literature there are actually 12 different colors to choose from!!!
There is also a color guide for this stamp. I have used it and still couldn't figure out what color some of mine were.

I figured it will turn up as the $3.75 one but I could only hope.

Since there are so many shades for the issue, the only sure way to be sure is to send it off and get in looked at by an expert.
