Just in the spirit of fair play I am re-posting my introduction to the forums.
I got back into stamp collecting on 20 April 2012 after being out of the hobby for over 25 years, needing something to do in my spare time. At the time I re-entered I had a few stamps that were a birthday gift (including a set that were issued the year of my birth for Canada). Over time I have amassed a collection that spans 15 binders and is a healthy coverage of my collecting interests. The binders are mostly just a collection of mint and used stamps. 2 of the binders are mint stock, the rest of the stock is in envelopes filed away in boxes (don't ask me to count them all).
My earlier foray into the hobby was in my teens when I lived in Milton, Ontario and back then I had the benefit of a mentor in the hobby who began collecting back in WWII Germany. In fact a chunk of his mint German Reich collection was gained by gaining access to bombed out banks during the bombing blitz of Germany by the Allies. He really did risk his life for his hobby.
