From time to time members want to send a gift to another member, and they do not always want that person to know.
in order to ensure that the person receiving this type of gift gets items that they want - we invite members to post a general collecting interest list.
not a specific want list (we have an area for that!!) as an example i will post mine here.

Please post your interests and or collections
NOTE: Due to the nature of this thread i have removed all "chatter" from it. please limit posts in this thread to your collecting interests exclusively.
if a member raises an interesting point or item you would like to discuss further please start a new thread on that topic and either quote them or tag them in the first post.

Greetings Fellow SB version 2.0 Boarders . In the interest of continuing the life of this thread, my general collecting interest is U.S. (used and unused) through current date and world-wide (used and unused) from 1840 through 2003. . Respectfully,
Currently concentrating on: Australia, Canada, Germany, Great Britain, Russia, United States- all of these to the current year Dragons and Lighthouses are my themes. Also Machins and Precancels (Mainly US).
I collect all World Wide and currently have a goal of at least 1 stamp from each issuing entity.
Bicycle mint stamps, postal stationeries, airgrphs, meter cancel, commomerative postmarks, feldposts World War II mint and used stamps France revolusionmint and used stamps, for my daughter USA civil war and revolution mint and used stamps, for my daughter Flowers mint and used stamps for my daughter Motorbikes mint and used stamps, for my daughter Tennis mint and used stamps, Cars mint and used stamps, for my son Dinosaurs mint and used stamps, for my son Military uniforms mint and used stamps, for my son More topics but it's very difficult to find anything in trade
Good Morning all, Currently (Topical Only) I collect postal stamps depicting the following: Farming, Archaeology, Old West, Bicycles, running, hockey, Neighborhood scenes, U.S. Civil War, Lincoln, Space, California, Elephants, Native American, Trains, and Waterfalls.
As For Countries, I collect Italy and Israel
I am also interested in "current stamps" from, Canada, Italy and Israel
I'm an on again, off again worldwide collector, although I tend toward earlier stamps. Say, to 1960 or so.
I used to be a member of the Scandinavian Collectors Club and have a fairly healthy start on Sweden, Norway, Denmark and the Faroe Islands. While I'm no longer an SCC member, I spend most of my time with those stamps.
I've got an active Australia and Great Britain collection, and a KGVI commonwealth collection.
And I have the basics for Canada up to around 2005. At our local show I have started filling in the earlier high values from the Bluenose on back. I think this year I might be going for some Quebec Tercentenaries.
Finally, I have a very, very small start at two topical collections. Soccer (football) and bread.
My personal preference is U.S. stamps pre 1900. I am not a fan of world wide stamps although I do have some. I have many mint WW, a Turkish stamp from 1861 I believe, have to recheck that though, and many mint British stamps that I acquired many years ago. Recently from eBay as part of an airmail collection have Cuba airmail stamps that are old, I really haven't gone through them though so I will have to post pics so some one here can inform me about them.
I collect postal history and covers. Mostly Advertising covers and picture post cards and covers from my hometown of Jersey Shore, Pa. I also love Classic era singles and some Back-Of-Book items so I'm all over the place really. The only "foreign" stuff that I collect is from WWI.era and only 2 countries- Germany an the U.S.A. I love classic cork cancellations (fancy cancels and/or S.O.T.N.) and early machine cancels.

I collect United States Classics, classic covers, Tobacco related covers & bill-heads and World fair ephemera (prior to 1930's)
In general my interests are wide and diverse. I have tried to group my interests but I am a general world wide collector and am starting a world wide classic collection. In addition to these I also have the following country collections I have decided to make these and my WW collections used.:
•Canada •Great Britain •Germany (all era and areas •Ireleand •Australia •Japan
In addition to the above country collections I am working on the following Topical/Thematic collections. Used or mint doesn't matter to me:
I suppose I should refine my list.... my interests are:
Postboxes Postal history Other postal stuff (e.g. Europa 2013 theme) Letterwriting & postcards Nature - creatures, plants, fungi... Landscape Castles Cartoons Science Fiction & Horror Science and technology - people and discoveries Games (not really into sports)
As for countries, I'd like to have at least one stamp from every postal country... anyone got South Sudan yet?! I also wouldn't mind a postcard sent from the Underwater Post Office in/off Vanuatu!
I am a letter writer, snailmail addict. I send therefore I receive. I also manage a letter writing/correspondence forum called A World of Snail Mail and have a blog (link is in my profile). I sometimes post pictures on Instagram (username morgaine_does_snail_mail) Stamp themes - science, nature, postal history, maps, nice stamps.
As much as I've tried to do the Topical thing, I just haven't been able to accomplish much. For a long time I just accumulated stamps. Now I'm trying to organize them into some sort of collection. I have albums for US, Great Britain, and Canada. The last 2 are printed from Bill Stiener's pages, so I guess I'm concentrating on those. Until I print another album!

Countries collecting ..GB ..Sweden ..USA up to year 2000 and thematically trying to collect BIRDS and ORCHIDS on stamp i.e. All known speciecs of birds on stamps like a birdwatchers/twitchers lifetime list of worldwide birds and orchid collectors worldwide list.
I collect worldwide, seeking out at least one stamp from each country with representation from each major regime. I am especially drawn to early twentieth-century engraved pictorials. The heart of my collection though is France. I am aiming to collect everything French up to the 1980s. Other focii:
USA: major types (I don't care about watermarks or coils) through 1999. Canada: major types through about 1950, focusing on the Bluenose period. Countries especially rich in engraved pictorials: Nyassa, Moz. co., North Borneo. Central Europe (Mitteleuropa) through the early 1950s, especially Third Reich, French occupations (both ways), Saar and Danzig, Czechoslovakia.
I am also working on a few topical accumulations: Carnivorous plants (provided they grow in the country depicting them) Vikings and Norse Mythology. As an extension, I am also starting to collect rock art. Male allegorical figures/male body as political symbol. This includes Greek mythology, colonial depictions of natives, industrial workers, and Olympic figures.
EDIT: I somehow neglected to mention French colonies up to about 1950, especially the early pictorials. Prominent in my wantlists are the evocative landscapes and cityscapes of the Maghreb and the Levant, the definitives for the components of French West Africa designed by Joseph de la Neziere (Senegal's marketplace, Dahomey's palm, Upper Sengal and Niger's camel) and the imperforate stamps with drawn perfs from Obock and Djibouti.

Well, I keep adding new areas of focus all the time.
I'm a world wide collector, primarily focused on United States, Great Britain, Canada, Singapore, India, Germany, New Zealand, Australia, China, Panama, Canal Zone, and South Africa.
I am attempting to topically collect Dragons, Military (Tanks, Aircraft, Ships, Guns, Wars, etc.), Hot Air Balloons, and Historical Events although I don't have much of a start on any of these yet.
I also love interesting covers, postcards, and maximum cards from anywhere in the world! I've hardly started on these, especially maximum cards, I just learned what those were recently and don't have any at all yet even though I think they are great.
