As mentioned in the US Prestige Booklets thread, the name prestige booklet is attributed to the £1 Story of Wedgewood issue of 1972 by Great Britain. That issue is typically considered by many to be the first “prestige booklet”. However, I consider the Great Britain “Stamps for Cooks” booklet of 1969 to be the predecessor of the prestige booklets. Therefore I will show that first.

I am a letter writer, snailmail addict. I send therefore I receive. I also manage a letter writing/correspondence forum called A World of Snail Mail and have a blog (link is in my profile). I sometimes post pictures on Instagram (username morgaine_does_snail_mail) Stamp themes - science, nature, postal history, maps, nice stamps.
Here’s the front cover of what is usually considered the first Great Britain prestige booklet: Scott Great Britain #BK144(24May1972), £1 Story of Wedgewood, prestige booklet. 2018 Scott catalog mint = $150
