I found a few old pieces from the US history. I find these items very cool to look at and I am very surprised I found these in a box of glassines. Just thought I would share them. I am going to look up the history on some of these items. So if anyone wants to share their knowledge about Savings stamps, War Ration books and coupon books for gas and food.

There are 25 US Postal Savings stamps on this card. The date on the front is March 1941

This gas coupon book is from Canada 1945/1946. I have a few questions about this item, Are the coupons for $1 worth of gas? How much was the price of gas back then?

There are 4 $1 coupons in this book.

This is from 1943 in the USA. The back of the book has the instructions.

The 10c postal savings stamps are listed in the US specialized Scott catalog (PS11).
I believe we had a discussion about them a while back.

The Postal Savings System was established to serve small investors living in rural communities. Under the program, lower and middle income individuals were able to deposit funds at their local post office. Postal Mail stamps, given as proof of the deposit, were redeemable in the form of credits to Postal Savings accounts.

President Theodore Roosevelt first promoted the Postal Savings System as a solution to public distrust of traditional banks. A Congressional act established the system effective January 1, 1911. Under the act, the Postal Savings System paid two percent interest per year. The minimum deposit was $1.00 with a maximum of $2,500.00. Postal Savings Stamps were issued January 3, 1911, with a 10¢ denomination. A 10¢ deposit card was also issued on that date.

The Postal Savings System proved to be very popular among rural Americans, immigrants familiar with similar systems in their native countries, and working people who were unable to conduct transactions during the limited hours of traditional banks. Postal Savings deposits could be made six days per week between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. The system eventually extended to over 5,000 post offices in 48 states.

Deposits to the U.S. Postal Savings System declined after World War II. The Post Office Department stopped accepting deposits on April 27, 1966, and officially ended the program the following year.

I uploaded a photo on April 27, 2013. Unfortunately that would be SBI. If I remember correctly quite a few people participated showing a variety of stamp types.

My booklet looks exactly like the one you posted first, except it was for 50 cent stamps.
My uncle had it in WWII.
EDIT:  Actually, he probably got the booklet during the Korean war, since it contains the later-dated stamps.  The framed stamps were issued after 1954.  The Booklet has a 1942 government printing office date on the back, but I suspect they simply continued to publish the same booklets during the Korean war.
