Stamp Hinges ..... Do you have a Preference?

For those of you who use stamp hinges........................

I've been looking around and I haven't seen this posted here (if it's been covered, sorry, I missed it). I have come across a few discussions around the internet but they are pretty dated. So I figured I'd ask here.

Does anyone have a favorite stamp hinge that they use? I'm looking for one that is even somewhat peelable. And yes, I'm familiar with the old Dennison hinges but no way I'm going to spend $25 a pack.
 I've been using SuperSafe (Hobby Lobby actually sells them) but I really want something better. I bought a pack about a month ago and they were curled like there was no tomorrow. And, SuperSafe sticks HARD. Unless I soak it, no way I'm going to remove the hinge without damaging the stamp.

I've seen mixed feelings about such brands as Prinz and Fold-O but have never tried them.

I use Lindner Das Original stamp hinges. I experience only a slight curl, if any. And I find, especially after sticking a stamp in the wrong spot, easy to remove with no damage to used stamps and only slight lose of glue from unused. The are not the least expensive, nor do they cost the most.

Phil , here in Regina, Saskatchewan, the local stamp store only stocked the Unitrade hinges and I have been disappointed with them. They curled badly in the package but I have found that if you store the package of hinges in a sealable sandwich bag, it curtails the curling. I was very lucky to obtain several packages of the old Dennison hinges recently so I am in great shape for the foreseeable future.

I have been using the Prinz hinges for the last 8-9 years. When I got back into stamp collecting, I ordered the American Heirloom Albums from Mystic and it came with a packet of Prinz hinges. Now I get them locally from Bill at stores.nolastampshop.com/prinz-prefolded-stamp-hinges/.

I have opened a pack from time to time and there will be some curled hinges in the pack. I believe that this might be from how they were stored after the manufacturing of them. I use supersafe not because I have a particular preference for them, but because that's what I have found easy to buy locally.

I haven't found that curling of hinges was a real issue once you moisten and mount a stamp with one but I know everyone has their own opinion about that.

kacyds, I did see those at Bill's store.
I think the curling for you and me have much to do with being on the Gulf Coast where humidity is a way of life. Like I said before, I opened a brand new pack of hinges from Hobby Lobby and was shocked at how bad they were curled up. I tried to use them but some of them were quite a feat to moisten and stick to a stamp and the album page.

Gordon Lee, I might give those Linder hinges a try.

I prefer not to use stamp hinges but I do appreciate the ones that peal off easily

I use Foldo, have been ever since. I find the best are the old Harold Cohn ones, but you gotta find 'em on eBay and then they cost 2 cents a hinge (!!!!!)

2¢ per hinge? Wow. Imagine the fun of hinging a penny stamp with a 2¢ hinge!

Probably the same feeling I get using a Showgard mount on a minimum value stamp. The mount may well have more value than the the stamp! All the same my US and Liechtenstein collections get mounted no matter what.
