Germany 1948 Posthorn Band Overprints
A bunch of these overprinted stamps were included in a lot I just received. Although I don't do much work in this highly-forged area, the overprint on the left looks pretty good to me, apart from the slight tilt, which may be a red flag I don't recognize. However, the overprint on the right is definitely one of the notorious fakes! The o/p ink is slightly shiny, while the originals have flat ink. Also, in the o/p on the right, each posthorn is unique in all its details, as if each was created by hand. On the other stamp, the posthorns are all exactly the same, as if mass-produced on a machine. All that aside, the most obvious difference would have to be the way the o/p stops short at left and right, whereas the original overprints were done in a continuous strip across the sheet.
