Thanks one and all for the welcome back to StampBears forum.... it's nice to be back.

We're just coming to the end of summer here in Cyprus and our days by the timeshare swimming pool or still being able to to swim in the sea will soon be numbered, which of course means more time for "stamping"

We had a little change earlier this year and managed to secure the .com for our website and are now running with that rather than the .co.uk extension which we had before.

Cyprus Post also managed to play it's usual blinder and made a change to their stamp release dates just on Friday with the next issue less than 2 weeks away! Normally at this time, I would be preparing my page ready for the next issue, getting sample images and text ready - but, they've put it back now until November and will release the Cyprus Children's Stamp for 2013 along with the new Christmas issue.

These are 2 quite different issues than the norm....

The Children's Stamp over the last few years have been related to well known children's stories but this year they've gone with a Cyprus folk tale "Spanos and the Forty Dragons" (one man slays 40 dragons in order to let the drinking water run into the village once again as the dragons were keeping it for themselves). It has other symbolisms of course, which are related to the various trials and tribulations that Cyprus has had to overcome in her long and distant past. Not always a good place to be situated close to the heart of the middle east as it makes good stomping ground for invaders passing through to other destinations!

The Christmas 2013 issue are all stamps which have been chosen from designs submitted by children from the Cyprus Elementary schools so this year we have something much nicer to look forward to. I made a preview from the stamp leaflet yesterday as I'm still waiting for the sample images from the leaflet:
