One More Reason to Eschew Ebay

Back in the early days of StampWants, before it had gotten a foothold in the market, we would keep an eye on Ina Steiner's web site E-Commerce Bytes, in order to see if and how SW was tracking on consumers' radar. The site has often been critical of ebay, and this article recounts how employees at the time went into total psycho mode to harass Mrs Steiner and her husband. While, a couple of former employees have pleaded guilty as charged, it seems ebay has not offered anything beyond a "sorry 'bout that."
Just disgusting.

I miss the Mom & Pop businesses. Nowadays with big businesses, it's

-- never admit to anything, only say "sorry" that "something" happened to you
-- blame it on rogue employees and fire them
-- any executives get caught in the scheme, just give them an obnoxious parting compensation package so they don't raise a stink and then shuffle them off to a buddy company for which you are a board member so that they can do the same for you when you get into trouble
-- state we're a great company and that's the main reason everybody uses us (it's not us, it's not our great customers, it's just that a third party pushed the buttons on those rogue individuals who don't represent our company's true interest)
