Bermuda Large Key Plate Stamps

Hey guys! I am starting my collection of the Bermuda large key plate stamps. If you could give any info (I am collecting mint, used and variations) on them, that would be great! I also would be up for trading for some if you have any for trade. I also heard that Leeward Islands and Nyasaland made large key plate stamps, too, so that would be helpful to know about. Lastly, if you guys have any books on the subject that you like, let me know! I found a few online.

Nice collecting area, Exodus!

For those not familiar with the term Key Plate stamp -- it refers to common design monarch definitives of the British Commonwealth beginning in 1879. For each basic stamp design, the plate for participating countries had the same monarch & frame design. The only difference is the country name & denomination in the tablets/panels.

It's similar to the modern common design types or omnibus issues for commemoratives, except that the Key Plate stamps were primarily definitive stamps. It's a well-studied area, and Scott only touches the surface when it defines the basic Die A/B and Die I/II on the "Dies of British Colonial Stamps" that appears near the end of the introduction section of every Scott WW catalog volume.
