USPS to Destroy ‘Just Move’ Stamp Series Over Safety Concern

With the Just Move! stamp issuance the U.S. Postal Service hoped to raise awareness about the importance of physical activity in achieving a healthy lifestyle. However, according to Linns Stamp News, the USPS will be destroying the entire press run after receiving concerns from the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition over alleged “unsafe” acts depicted on three of the stamps (cannonball dive, skateboarding without kneepads and a headstand without a helmet). (There’s also a batter without a batting helmet, a girl balancing on a slippery rock, and a soccer player without kneepads or shin pads.)

I swear we seem to be getting more and more stupid about this. I and I am sure all of you grew up without helmets, knee pads, elbow pads and we all (okay kacyds excepted ) grew up okay. Heck, i even cracked my head open a few times requiring stitches.

at what point do parents become responsible for raising their kids? this crap all started in the 80's with record labels (yeah i was cheering Dee Snider and the rest on as he ripped congress a new one in an extremely professional manner).. then warning labels got out of hand.. i mean really? no crap there are peanuts in peanut butter!! DUHHHH really? why shouldn't i put my hand in a running snow blower?

books being removed from schools, TV ratings, cars that take the skill and art of driving out of peoples hands and NOW kids can't play unless their parents make $70K + a year to buy them 900 pounds of safety gear (that they wont use by the way) and a set of stamps that actually encourages something other than sitting in front of a box being told what to do and what to by can not see the light of day?!?!
